Information services

The Information Services (IS) team at the NHF facilitates the interchange and dissemination of information to all in the chronic disease prevention area to support the NHF vision of a healthy society.

Our research shows that new ideas and practices spread through interpersonal contact and communication. If all public health programmes include networking interaction it may improve adoption of policies and research and aid the diffusion of new ideas. By sharing best practice and information rapidly we build a stronger community that can respond to challenges and progress health initiatives more quickly. This will lead to an acceleration in the prevention of avoidable chronic disease.

The IS team collaborates with many organisations. We are also members of CILIP, the Health Library Group (HLG), European Association for Health and Information Libraries (EAHIL), UKeIG, Independent Health Libraries in London (CHILL) and more.

We welcome working in partnership with other organisations like ouselves and can provide you with our expertise in delivering high quality information projects. Please contact us if you want to know more.

Objectives

  • Rapid sharing of latest news, research and policy in chronic disease prevention
  • Using innovative, new technology to disseminate information
  • Aiming to stimulate new ideas in prevention
