Welcome to the National Heart Forum
Coronary heart disease (CHD) is the leading single cause of death in the UK and claimed the lives of around 101,000 people in 2005. Approximately one in five men and one in six women will die of the disease. It can be responsible for years of disability and ill health.
The National Heart Forum (NHF) is a leading alliance of over 60 national organisations working to reduce the risk of coronary heart disease and related conditions such as stroke, diabetes and cancer. Our diverse alliance comprises charities, non-governmental and medical professional organisations.
This website is designed to help you find out more about what we do, make contact with the NHF member organisations and discover more about avoidable coronary heart disease and related conditions in the UK.
